In
this poster I tried to explain my cultural identity of both sides like
Colombian and like an immigrant who is living in U.S. I have my own traditions, I show it in the images
I put in the poster like the Colombian coffee (Juan Valdes), our flowers
(Colombia is a big export), our traditional dances, flower fair, our
traditional food (Bandeja paisa and arepas) and our traditional transportation
(la chiva). All these elements conform my heritage, at the same way because U.S
is inside of our same continent AMERICA,
we are everyone american-os, we are
not different and we share the taste of the good coffee :) and we enjoy of the
culture of the coffee places. And for U.S. culture I embrace that we can enjoy
of different free events, the museums, art and architecture. So, each one is a
person and doesn’t matter our differences we are in the same world and we can
respect and be in the same place all the heritages.
Hi, Monica
ReplyDeleteYou gave me the first impression of Colombian because I don't know anything about your country. You said Colombian is a part of America, so I want to know about some special festivals about Colombian. Thank you!
Hi Leilin,
DeleteWell some of our festivals are Whites and blacks, flowers fair, book fair, mango fair, fire fair... Thanks for your comment, see you in class
Hi. Monica
ReplyDeleteYour poster looks very interesting me. I like the art in columbia because it looks very ancient. what is Chiva mean?
Chiva mean like kid, goat is the name of our traditional public transportation. And our culture is very recent 1810-1816 was our independence from Spain, we are very young hehe

Do you feel more American or Colombian?
From your description seems like you are everything (American and Colombian).
