Chinese Culture

Chinese Culture ??

China's landscape is vast and diverse, with forest steppes and the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts occupying the arid north and northwest near Mongolia and Central Asia, and subtropical forests being prevalent in the wetter south near Southeast Asia.

Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and folklore. In Chinese art, dragons are typically portrayed as long, scaled, serpentine creatures with four legs. In yin and yang terminology, a dragon is yang and complements a yin fenghuang ("Chinese phoenix").

Chinese lucky money is money that is traditionally given in red packages to young people during Chinese New Year. These red envelopes of money are called Hung Bao. Symbols of wealth and luck usually decorate the outside of the red money packages.

Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely.

The calligraphic tradition of East Asia originated and developed from China. There is a general standardization of the various styles of calligraphy in this tradition.

  2. I like the lucky money. I looked forward to Chinese New Year when I was young. However, I had not received the lucky money since I worked. Did you receive the lucky money after you work?
